WHICH AIRPORT IS THE BEST OPTION FOR LA PLAGNE TRANSFERS?
All the La Plagne resorts sit above the village of Aime, on the N90 national road. The transfer time therefore depends on which La Plagne resort you are going to. Of course, the journey also depends on the traffic and the weather. If you are travelling during the school holidays, when the roads can be very busy, the journey does take longer. We allow extra time when we know the traffic may be bad. Chambery is the closest airport but it has a limited selection of flights. For a greater choice of destinations, consider flying into Geneva Airport, Lyon Airport or Grenoble Airport.
– Chambery airport (CMF) is 123 km (77 miles) from Belle Plagne. The transfer time is usually just over 2 hours.
– Aime Bus Station is 21 km from Belle Plagne. The transfer time is about 35 minutes. If you are arriving from Grenoble or Lyon Airports or by eurostar, we’d recommend the local La Plagne public buses or a taxi.
WHERE ARE THE BUS STOPS IN LA PLAGNE?
All our airports shuttles from Geneva Airport make stops at Belle Plagne, Plagne Bellecote, Plagne Centre, Plagne Soleil & Plagne 1800. Visit our Geneva Airport to La Plagne page to see the exact locations of these bus stops. From all of our stops, you can take a free in-resort shuttle bus to most accommodations in the La Plagne resorts.
From Grenoble and Lyon Airports, our buses stop at the Aime bus station. Visit our Grenoble Airport to Aime page or our Lyon Airport to Aime page for more details. If you then expand the section “ONWARD TRANSPORT FROM AIME” you can find information and advice on how to get from Aime to the La Plagne resorts.
LA PLAGNE SKI RESORT
La Plagne is a great family destination that is split into many different sub resorts, all of which have their own characteristics. Some resorts are more suited to families whereas some are more suitable for younger groups. However, with its 225km of runs to choose from, the La Plagne ski area does offer skiing for all tastes and abilities. There are 18 black runs, 33 reds, 69 blues and 10 greens. If that is not enough, La Plagne is connected to the enormous ski area know as “Paradiski”, by way of the Vanoise Express. The Paradiski area offers access to some of the most amazing skiing in the world, covering over 425km of marked runs, served by 141 lifts.
