These are small towns on the valley floor that are very close to Oz. From there you have multiple options to get up to Oz en Oisans.

Oz en Oisans is part of the Alpe d’Huez ski area, which includes Vaujany. It is, however, accessed by a completely separate road, the D256 and D44A. This road comes up from Rochetaillee, a small village close to Bourg d’Oisans. The most affordable way to get to Oz en Oisans is to book our low-cost bus to Rochetaillee and then arrange onward transport from there. The journey from Rochetaillee to Oz en Oisans takes just 10 minutes by car, covering a distance of 7 km and a taxi would cost around €45.

LYON AIRPORT TO OZ EN OISANS TRANSFERS

If you’re travelling from Lyon Airport to Oz en Oisans, Ben’s Bus will have a service that can take you to Bourg d’Oisans or Rochetaillee on any Saturday during the winter season, up to the end of March. Our ski transfer buses are regular and timely and our vehicles, which are equipped with snow tyres, are driven by expert local drivers. English speaking staff will greet you at the airport and ensure your transfer goes as smoothly as possible.

The transfer time from Lyon Airport to Oz en Oisans is about 2 hours in a car, in normal driving conditions. The total distance is 92 km.

The transfer time from Lyon Airport to Rochetaillee is just under 2 hours, covering a distance of 131 km. The journey time will depend on the weather and traffic conditions. It can take a lot longer during busy periods such as during the French school holidays. Extra time for the journey is factored into our bus times during these periods.

A Return ski transfer from Lyon to Bourg d’Oisans or Rochetaillee with Ben’s Bus will cost just £77pp Return. With our group discounts, you could be paying as little as £66pp Return. Children under 12 get a further 10% off. We cannot find a cheaper way of getting from Lyon Airport to Oz en Oisans.

SKIING IN OZ EN OISANS

Oz en Oisans sits at an altitude of 1350m in the department of Isere in the Southern Alps. It is linked to Alpe d’Huez by ski lifts and forms part of the Grand Domaine ski area, offering 250km of varied piste.

It is popular with families as it has 3 easy ski lifts and runs and has a village ski resort feel to it.

Although built recently (1989) the construction was tastefully done and most of the chalets and apartment blocks are clad in wood and stone, creating an authentic mountain atmosphere amongst the many fir trees.

There is a public swimming pool, an ice rink and floodlit night skiing and tobogganing. The resort is quite small which makes it a perfect family destination as everything is within easy walking distance of your accommodation.

Which Airport Is Best For Oz en Oisans?

Grenoble Airport or Lyon Airport are the most popular airports for travelling to Oz en Oisans. Grenoble has a wide choice of flights from the UK and Ireland, but is limited for destinations elsewhere in Europe. Lyon Airport is a very good option, covers a lot of flight destinations with lots of different airlines, and has great transport links.
