Lyon Airport to Val d’Isere transfers run from December – April during the 2026 / 2027 winter ski season. This is our 21st year running low cost shared transfers to Val d’Isere. The Ben’s Bus network of airport shuttles includes more regular services from Geneva to Val d’Isere and Grenoble to Val d’Isere.
We usually transport passengers in large 50-seater coaches. This means we can offer the cheapest Lyon to Val d’Isere ski transfers on the market, whilst still maintaining our high standards in safety, comfort and reliability. All our buses are now carbon neutral.
The transfer time from Lyon Airport to Val d’Isere is about 3 hours 30 minutes. The transfer time depends massively on the date, time of day, the weather and traffic. You don’t need to worry though as we know when to allow extra time for the journey. The distance from Lyon Airport to Val d’Isere is 219 km.
Our vehicles usually take the A43 (E70) motorway to Albertville, via Chambery, then the N90 national road to Bourg St Maurice before climbing the D902 up to Val d’Isere.
BEN’S BUS STOPS IN RESORT
Our service makes a stop at the Bus Station in La Daille and, depending on when you arrive and depart, the centre of Val d’Isere. La Daille is a purpose built part of the resort, about 5 minutes away from the centre. You can select either of these stops when you book with us. Your e-ticket will display a map and pick up time. Our vehicles will have signs in the window and our rep will be on-hand to help you. The local authorities have access restrictions on when any large vehicle can enter the centre of the resort:– If you arrive into the resort before 8pm, we will drop you at the bus station in La Daille. From here you can take the ‘Red Train’ shuttle bus onto your accommodation.– If you depart the resort after 07:50, we can only pick you up at La Daille. The ‘Red Train’ shuttle bus starts at 06:40 from Le Fornet on weekends.
Please Note The Following Exceptions: On the 12th December we only have services to Val d’Isere. On the 3rd April we only have services from Val d’Isere.
VAL D'ISERE TRANSPORT, WEATHER AND RESORT INFORMATION
The best way to travel from Lyon Airport to Val d'Isere is on a direct shared transfer. They are cheap, convenient and environmentally friendly. The alternatives are a private transfer, a hire car or public transport.
Private transfers a considerably more expensive but are door-to-door and can be timed exactly for your flight.
Hire cars are convenient, but remember to add in the extra costs of fuel, motorways tolls, parking in resort and snow tyres/ chains.
Public transport would involve changing buses or trains at least once and would take longer, and not cost much less than a dedicated shared transfer.

How Long Does It Take To Get From Lyon Airport To Val d'Isere?
The transfer from Lyon Airport to Val d'Isere usually takes about 3 hours 30 minutes, although this depends heavily on the traffic conditions and weather. The journey does take longer if you are travelling between 8am - 3pm (depending on the direction you're driving). Over the festive season and during the February European holidays, the roads can become extremely congested between Moutiers and Bourg St Maurice, where the road narrows to 1 lane at times. There can also be queues at the peages (tolls), since the Parisians and Lyonnais use the same route to get home.
Ben's Bus has 2 stops in Val d'Isere. The bus station (known as the 'Gare Routiere' in France) is located at the entrance to the resort, in La Daille. This is a purpose built part of the resort with many cheaper accommodation blocks. The La Daille bus station is always available and has a lovely new bus shelter. From here you can take the very frequent, free shuttle buses into the centre. If you are arriving into the resort after 8pm or leaving the resort before 7:50am, you can also use our stop in the centre of the village. The authorities restrict access to centre during the day, which is why this stop is not always available.

The Ben's Bus Lyon Airport Team will greet you at the Lyon Airport Bus Station, which is just a few minutes walk on flat ground from the main Terminal building.
