TRANSFER TIME FROM GRENOBLE AIRPORT TO VAL D’ISERE

The transfer time from Grenoble Airport to Val d’Isere is about 3 hours 20 minutes. This is the average transfer time on a Saturday in the winter. The actual journey time will depend on the date, time of day, weather and traffic conditions. We allow more time for the journey when we know traffic may be bad. The distance from Grenoble Airport to Val d’Isere is 215 km.

The route our experienced, local drivers usually take is the A43 (E70) motorway to Albertville via Grenoble, the N90 national road to Bourg St Maurice then the D902 to Val d’Isere. We have up to 5 buses each Saturday.

BEN’S BUS STOPS IN RESORT

All our buses can stop at the bus station in La Daille and, depending on when you arrive and depart, the centre of Val d’Isere. La Daille is the purpose built part of the resort, about 5 minutes from the main town. Click to see the Val d’Isere Tourist Office Interactive map which will help you find your accommodation. The free Val d’Isere in-resort shuttle buses circulate the resort regularly.

Your e-ticket will display a map and pick up time. Our vehicles will have signs in the window, but just ask the driver or our reps if you’re unsure.

The local authorities have access restrictions on when any large vehicle can enter the centre of the resort:

– If you arrive into the resort before 8pm, we will drop you at the bus station in La Daille. From here you can take the ‘Red Train’ shuttle bus onto your accommodation.

– If you depart the resort after 07:50, we can only pick you up at La Daille. The ‘Red Train’ shuttle bus starts at 06:40 from Le Fornet on weekends.

What Is The Best Way To Travel From Grenoble Airport To Val d'Isere?

The easiest way to travel from Grenoble Airport to Val d'Isere is by direct shared transfer. How Long Does It Take To Get From Grenoble Airport To Val d'Isere?

The transfer from Grenoble Airport to Val d'Isere usually takes about 3 hours 20 minutes, although journey times can vary depending on traffic and weather conditions. Extra time is needed at certain times of the day, especially between 8am - 3pm (depending on your direction of travel). The roads can get extremely congested between Moutiers and Bourg St Maurice because the road narrows to 1 lane at times and this road services so many ski resorts, including Les Arcs, La Plagne and Tignes. A lot of extra time is needed when the European schools, particularly the French, are on holiday.

Where Does The Bus Stop In Val d'Isere?

Ben's Bus has 2 stops in Val d'Isere. The bus station (known as the 'Gare Routiere' in France) is located at the entrance to the resort, in La Daille. This is a purpose built part of the resort with many cheaper accommodation blocks. The La Daille bus station is always available and has a lovely new bus shelter. From here you can take the very frequent, free shuttle buses into the centre. If you are arriving into the resort after 8pm or leaving the resort before 7:50am, you can also use our stop in the centre of the village. The authorities restrict access to centre during the day, which is why this stop is not always available.
