TRANSFER TIME FROM LYON AIRPORT TO VAL THORENS
The transfer time from Lyon Airport to Val Thorens is between 3 hours 20 minutes – 4 hours. This is dependent on the date, time of day, the weather and traffic. Our vehicles usually take the A43 motorway to Albertville, via Chambery, then the N90 national road to Moutiers before climbing the D117 up to Val Thorens.

Ben’s Bus shared transfers servicing Val Thorens from Lyon Airport run on the following dates:

SUNDAYS : We do not have any Sunday buses from Lyon Airport, although we do from Grenoble Airport, a 45 minutes €110 taxi ride away. If you use our Booking Form and select any flight, you will see what time our Grenoble bus goes and therefore if the times work for you. Otherwise, consider changing your flight so it arrives into Grenoble or Geneva or see what alternative transport options we recommend.
WEEKDAYS : We’re sorry but we do not operate on any weekday from Lyon Airport. Our alternative transport page may be able to help you.
Our Grenoble Airport to Val Thorens service runs for a longer period in the season, and our Geneva Airport to Val Thorens runs pretty much all season. You could fly into one airport and out of another and then make 2 separate, single bookings with us. Or you could book one way with us and the other way with another company.

– On the 16th December we only have services from Lyon airport.
– On the 6th April we only have services to Lyon airport.

USEFUL TIPS : You could book a Single with us for one leg of your journey and travel the other way with another company. You could also consider changing one or both of your flights into / out of Grenoble or Geneva Airports, as we have more frequent services from those airports on both Saturdays and Sunday.
The transfer time between Lyon Airport & Val Thorens is usually between 3 hrs 20 mins & 4 hours. These times are approximations. Please remember that expected journey times are difficult to predict in the mountains due to weather and traffic conditions.
We allow extra time for the journey when we know the traffic may be bad. With years of experience driving this route, we know how long the transfer time may be depending on the time and date of the transfer. Put your flight details into our booking system and we will show you a list of available bus times. Very infrequently, we may ask you to change buses at Moutiers. Our reps or drivers will help you with this.
Our coaches to Val Thorens depart from either Bus Bay 11 or 12 of the “Gare Routiere” on the Ground Floor of Terminal 1. Click the image to the left to see a more detailed map of the airport and location of our bus stops. On Saturdays, a uniformed Ben’s Bus rep will there to assist you.
We have 2 stops in Val Thorens. The majority of our customers will wish to use our Gare Routiere stop. The UCPA stop is generally only used by people staying at the UCPA centre. This is because the UCPA is quite isolated and there is not much else around.

Val Thorens UCPA Bus Stop
Walk out of the main entrance of the UCPA and take the track to the left, leading onto the main road. Our bus will stop in the lay-by directly opposite, on the side of the road heading down the mountain. You can see it in google maps here.
