Planning a ski trip to Tignes this winter? Flying into Geneva Airport? Geneva is the closest big international airport to Tignes and is the most convenient as it has so many flights. You have a choice of 3 ways to get from Geneva to Tignes: private taxi, shared transfer or hire car. Shared transfers are the most affordable and environmentally friendly option and Ben’s Bus has the best prices. We use large coaches which have more space, so the journey is more comfortable. The transfer time from Geneva Airport to Tignes is about 4 hours. We run a regular service every Saturday and Sunday.

TRANSFER TIME FROM GENEVA AIRPORT TO TIGNES
The transfer time from Geneva Airport to Tignes Le Lac is about 3 hours 30 minutes. This depends on the date, the time of day, weather and the traffic conditions. More time is given for journeys during busy periods, such as during the French school holidays. The distance from Geneva Airport to Tignes Le Lac is 175km (109 miles). On peak Saturdays, we have 8 well timed buses, so you’ll be on the piste in no time! Details of our bus TIMETABLE can be seen below. Passengers are generally transported in the larger vehicles from the fleets we use, which reduces their carbon footprint.
TIGNES BUS STOPS
Our services pick up and drop off at convenient places in Tignes Les Brevieres, Tignes 1800, Tignes Le Lac and Tignes Val Claret. You can select any of these destinations when you book with us. The free, local shuttle buses dart around the resort regularly and can take you onto your accommodation. We also run transfers from Geneva to Val d’Isere and Geneva to Bourg St Maurice.

Please read this entire section for full advice on your options. Our Geneva Airport to Tignes route runs on:
SATURDAYS: Every Saturday until the 27th April 2024
SUNDAYS: Every Sunday until the 7th April 2024
WEEKDAYS: We don’t have any buses from any airport to Tignes on weekdays.

TIMETABLE
Our bus times are designed so you spend less time at the airport and more time in the resort. We have up to 8 departures each Saturday. Our timetable works around flight arrivals and departures. The best way to see what shared ski transfers we have available is to enter your details into our Booking Form. Continue through the booking process to see a price breakdown and the available bus times.
If your flight time is not listed, then we are sorry but we cannot help you. However, you could consider the following options:
– You could change your flight to one that suits our bus times
– If you are arriving on a Friday / Saturday evening, you could stay in a hotel at Geneva Airport and then take our morning bus the next day. Just select “Hotel” for your Airline and Airport and the first flight arrival time listed to see our morning bus times.
– Remember, you could book a Single with us and another Single with another company.

THE JOURNEY
The journey between Geneva Airport and Tignes Les Brevieres, the closest of the Tignes resorts, usually takes around 3 hours 5 minutes.
Tignes 1800 is another 10 to 15 minutes up the road, Le Lac is a further 10 minutes and Val Claret a quick 5 minute dart up the mountain.
The transfer times given above are approximations. We allow more time for the journey when we think the traffic may be bad, such as during the school holidays or when local events are taking place.
Our vehicles generally take the fastest and most direct route, via the A41 motorway and then the N90 national road through Annecy. The road between Moutiers and Bourg St Maurice (where we may ask you to change buses) can be subject to heavy traffic, especially between 8am – 12 noon. You should try to avoid travelling at these times, especially during the French school holidays. The last stretch of the journey is the D902 mountain road up to Tignes.

Tignes Val Claret Bus Stop
The ‘Gare Routiere’ Bus Station, which is a small outdoor coach park on the North Eastern side of the village, just above all of the buildings. It is close to the Parking du Golf. View our Val Claret Bus Stop in GoogleMaps.
Tignes Le Lac Bus Stop
At the main bus station, the “Gare Routiere”, in the centre of the village. If you are staying in Le Lavachet, this is the stop for you. View our Le Lac Bus Stop in Google Maps.
Tignes 1800 Bus Stop

Tignes Les Brevieres Bus Stop

Please note that from time to time, our transfers from Geneva Airport may require a stop at Moutiers, Aime or Bourg St Maurice, where you may need to change over to another feeder coach. Our reps and / or drivers will help you with this and we will try and keep this inconvenience to a minimum.
