how much luggage can i bring bens busHOW MUCH LUGGAGE CAN I BRING ON BEN’S BUS?

Each person can bring 1 HOLD ITEM and 1 small piece of HAND LUGGAGE. This is included in your ticket price. If you wish to bring more, you will need to pay a small, nominal fee for those extra items.

LUGGAGE DEFINITIONS:

 – HOLD ITEM: Any item that WILL NOT FIT into the overhead rack of a bus (which are much smaller than on planes!). Hold Items include: Suitcases, holdals, large ruck sacks etc  |  Skis / Snowboards  |  Boot-bags  |  Pushchairs |  Small airline-style ‘Wheelie Bags’

 – HAND LUGGAGE: Any item that fit into the overhead rack of a bus. So small rucksacks, handbags etc.

WHY WE NEED TO CHARGE FOR EXTRA BAGS

Our buses have limited hold space and ski equipment takes up a lot of room. When we see lots of extra luggage booked on a bus, we reduce the number of available seats to sell.

We do this to ensure there is enough room for everyone and so our buses leave on time. However, this means we lose sales. That’s why we need to charge for carrying extra bags.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVEN’T DECLARED MY EXTRA BAGS?

If you have not declared the proper number of Hold Items when you arrive at the airport, our staff will ask you to log in and add those extra bags. However, just like airlines, we will charge you extra more to add these last minute. The fees for extra bags will be doubled when you purchase them on the day of travel.

We have to do this to encourage people to book in advance so we can properly manage our buses. It is very disruptive to our operations when we have to manage extra bags on the day.

If we do not have enough space for you and your extra, non-declared bags, there is a chance that there will not be space for you on the bus you have booked and you may need to wait for a later service.
